Light and Fluffy Belgian Waffles

The best pancake you will ever eat.
Print          
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
3 tbsp melted butter
1 cup whole wheat cake flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Thoroughly combine all ingredients except flour. Gently mix in flour a 1/2 cup at a time. Do not over mix the flour. Just get it wet and stop mixing. Cook 1/4 cup per pancake on a medium/low (350 deg.) heat until golden brown on each side. Try to only flip once.

Makes: 6 six inch pancakes

Basically a fruit custard. A baked French dessert of black cherries arranged in a buttered dish and covered with a thick flan-like batter. Clafoutis is dusted with powdered sugar and served warm.

Steel-cut oatmeal is so substantial, with a fuller flavour and texture that makes quick-cook seem as if it's merely masquerading as oatmeal. When you eat steel-cut, you think, "Oh! So this is what oatmeal is supposed to taste like!"
